The Role – Junior Merchandiser
A|wear, the leading Irish provider of up to the minute, affordable high street female fashion and accessories are now looking for a Junior Merchandiser to join one of our fast paced womenswear teams.
You will have a proven track record as a Junior Merchandiser or Senior level Assistant Merchandiser ready for that next step currently and working for a fast fashion high street retailer.
Based in Dublin you will be part of a tight and lively Merchandising team. You will be involved in planning andforecasting of sales, margins, stock levels, markdown/promotion activity, and OTB, to maximise profit and minimise risk.
The Responsibilities:
Working under the guidance of a Merchandiser you will be required to:
- Work with the Buyer to build product and range seasonal strategies for designated product area
- Plan, Review and Manage KPI’s for designated product area
- Work with the Buyer to plan and build commercial ranges for Stores and other Channels that fit agreed KPI’s
- Develop new initiatives, with the Buyer, to drive the business/ designated product forward.
- Effective in-season trading to identify opportunities and risks
- Manage Product life cycle to maximise sales and minimise markdown
- Manage/Oversee the Critical path to ensure on time delivery of Product to Stores
- Manage the communication between Stores and Merchandising.
- Monitor product and store performance and provide the Merchandiser and Buyer with historical analysis as well as suggesting improvements to be made.
- Manage and Develop Assistant Merchandiser and/or Allocator
The Person
- A minimum of 1 years experience as a Junior Merchandiser or 2 years at Assistant level in a fashion driven, fast paced, multi-unit retail environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Build a network of relationships internally and externally to aid decision making and strategy.
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Consistently acting with a high level of integrity.
- Use coaching skills to aid development of Allocators and Assistant Merchandisers
- Strong Organisational and prioritisation Skills
- Strong IT Skills – Excel, Word, experience of Reporting tools and Retail Merchandising systems

The Role – Assistant Merchandiser

- Forecast profit and sales, and optimise sales volume and profitability of designated product areas under the guidance of the Merchandiser.
- Develop new initiatives, with the Merchandiser, to drive the business forward.
- Produce the weekly trading pack with the Merchandiser ensuring accuracy at all times.
- Awareness of and maintenance of the Critical path to ensure on time delivery of Product to Stores and other channels
- Manage the progress of orders with the Buying Team at the regular intake weekly meeting.
- Manage the communication between Stores and Merchandising.
- Monitor product and store performance and provide the Merchandiser and Buyer with historical analysis as well as suggesting improvements to be made.
- Work closely with the Merchandiser to ensure he/she has the most up to date information about products and stores.
- Use analysis to review and potentialise individual store performance to maximise sales
- Manage the Allocator to ensure effective and profitable placement of stock to minimise markdown
The Person
- A minimum of 1 years experience as an Assistant Merchandiser or 2 years as an Allocator in a fashion driven, fast paced, multi-unit retail environment.
